Fairer Charging gives client finance teams continuous, AI-driven visibility across every managed account — without changing your systems, your banking arrangements, or your workflows.
Designed for
The Challenge
Local Authorities carry a growing statutory responsibility for the financial wellbeing of some of the most vulnerable people in the country. The caseload is rising. The compliance expectations are tightening. The tools haven't kept up.
Fairer Charging was built specifically to address that gap — for client finance teams, by people who understand how Local Authorities work.
With hundreds of accounts, periodic case-by-case review means systemic problems go undetected. Anomalies that would be caught immediately by automated monitoring can persist for months.
Producing OPG102 annual reports manually is one of the most time-consuming compliance tasks your team faces. Data sits in multiple systems. Reconciliation is slow, error-prone, and stressful.
Without systematic monitoring, vulnerable clients can remain on poor energy tariffs for years. The financial harm is real — and largely invisible to even the most diligent team.
Your data sits across case management systems, banking platforms and spreadsheets. There is no single, reliable picture of the financial health of your entire client population.
How It Works
Fairer Charging sits alongside the systems you already use. There is no migration, no new banking relationship, and no upheaval to your existing processes. We add the analytical layer your team is missing.
In the initial phase, Fairer Charging ingests account data via standard CSV export from whatever finance or banking system your team already uses — Liquidlogic, ContrOCC, Monika, or a high-street bank. No system migration. No IT project.
No disruption to existing systemsOur platform runs continuous analysis across your entire client population — not just the ones flagged for review. It identifies anomalies, unusual spending patterns, excessive charges, and tariff inefficiencies automatically.
Full-population monitoringEvery alert is presented in plain, human-readable language with a clear recommended action. The AI surfaces findings — your team makes the decisions. We are decision-support, not decision-maker.
Human oversight always in controlOPG102 annual account reporting is produced directly from the integrated financial data. What currently takes weeks of manual reconciliation is reduced to hours — accurate, structured, and audit-ready.
Court of Protection compliantThe platform systematically identifies clients on inefficient energy tariffs and flags them for action. Phase 1 covers energy. Phase 2 extends to mobile, broadband, insurance, and TV licensing — generating measurable financial benefit for clients who cannot advocate for themselves.
Average £136 energy saving per clientPlatform Capabilities
Six core capabilities, built around the real workflow of a client finance team — not a generic fintech product adapted for the public sector.
Continuous, automated oversight of every account in your caseload — not just those selected for periodic review. Nothing is missed because no one had time to look.
Automatic identification of unusual spending, excessive charges, unexplained transactions, and inconsistent patterns — surfaced to case officers immediately for review.
AI-generated OPG102 annual account output produced directly from integrated data. Structured, auditable, and accurate — without the weeks of manual preparation.
Systematic identification of clients on above-market energy tariffs. Average saving of £136 per client per year, generated automatically from the monitoring data.
Systematic comparison of charges and spending patterns across comparable client profiles — identifying inconsistencies that no individual case review process could realistically catch.
A clear, plain-English interface designed for non-technical users. Every alert includes an explanation and a recommended action. No jargon. No data science required.
Compliance & Safeguarding
Fairer Charging is designed from the ground up to support the compliance obligations of Local Authority client finance teams — not to add to them.
Automated OPG102 annual account production aligned to Court of Protection requirements. Audit-ready outputs that support your team's statutory reporting duties.
The platform supports your duty to promote the financial wellbeing of clients in your care — providing the systematic oversight that manual processes cannot reliably deliver at scale.
System-agnostic architecture with no unnecessary data sharing between platforms. DPIA-ready design. Your client data stays within the boundaries you define.
Every AI-generated alert requires human review and sign-off. The platform surfaces information — your officers make the decisions. Guardrails are built in, not bolted on.
Every alert, review, and action is logged. Your team has a complete, auditable record of oversight activity across the entire client population — invaluable for inspection or challenge.
Fairer Charging reads and analyses financial data. It does not move money, change account structures, or require any change to your clients' existing banking arrangements.
System Integration
There is no IT project. No system migration. No requirement to change your banking provider. Fairer Charging is designed to sit alongside your existing infrastructure and add the analytical layer that's currently missing.
No migration away from your existing case management or finance systems
No changes to client banking arrangements or account structures
No complex data sharing agreements — CSV export in the initial phase keeps things straightforward
Banking-agnostic — works whether your clients are banked with a challenger bank or a high-street provider
API integration available in later phases for real-time data without manual exports

The Difference It Makes
Every account on the Fairer Charging platform benefits financially. Every team using it operates with better visibility, lower compliance risk, and less administrative burden.
Generated through systematic tariff monitoring and optimisation. Real money returned to vulnerable people who cannot advocate for themselves.
Annual efficiency gain from automated monitoring, anomaly detection, and Court of Protection reporting — per account on the platform.
Total measurable benefit per client, per year. The cost of oversight is offset by the savings it creates — the platform is self-funding at scale.
"Protecting the financial interests of vulnerable adults — and proving that better oversight pays for itself."
The Fairer Charging Mission
About Us
Fairer Charging was founded on a straightforward belief: that the most vulnerable people in our care system deserve the same quality of financial oversight that anyone else would take for granted. The gap between that standard and current reality is not a failure of intent — it is a failure of tools. We are here to close it.
We are working directly with Local Authority client finance teams to make sure the platform reflects how your teams actually operate — not how a technology company imagines you do.
Vision & Social Mission
Over 61,000 adults across England and Wales have their finances managed by a third party under statutory oversight. Many are on poor energy tariffs, subject to unexplained charges, or simply invisible to the systems meant to protect them.
Fairer Charging exists to change that — systematically, at scale, and in a way that generates measurable public value from day one. The cost of better oversight is offset by the financial benefit it creates for the very people it protects.
Protecting the financial interests of vulnerable adults — and proving that better oversight pays for itself.
